Stanford University - '27
2nd LieutenantLvl 0Hey! I'm currently a Junior at Stanford University studying Aeronautics and Astronautics. During my time here, I've worked on lots of cool projects, including research on carbon-fiber composite materials, designing and building custom structures for a small satellite (launching this year!), and many more! I attended Pine View from 6th to 12th grade, scoring a 1570 on the SAT with a perfect score in the math section. I received 5s in AP Calc BC, AP Physics C Mechanics and E&M, AP Stat, and AP Chem, so I'm a great resource for math, physics, and SAT prep! I've previously tutored 10+ middle school and high school students in Math, English, and SAT prep with hundreds of hours of experience. I know that each student learn at a different pace and has different goals in their learning, so I aim to customize my lesson plans depending on the student's needs. I'm really excited to share my knowledge and experience with the next generation of Pine View students!

Ethan
Johns Hopkins University
2nd LieutenantLvl 0Hi everyone! My name is Ethan and I am a current senior at Johns Hopkins University studying Molecular and Cellular Biology. Outside of classes I conduct clinical and wet lab research at the Hopkins School of Medicine, play club soccer, and run a mentoring club on campus that pairs freshman with upperclassmen mentors. In the fall I will be moving to NYC to start medical school at ISMMS in the city. I have worked with many PV students in the past as well as with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) to guide students to their dream colleges (Stanford, Columbia, JHU, and many more). I am well-equipped to help tutor students in SAT and STEM course tutoring. I graduated from PV in 2022 and felt that it prepped me well for the courseload at JHU. Please reach out for anything I might be able to help you with!

Hallie
Stanford University
2nd LieutenantLvl 0Hi! I’m Hallie, a Stanford Class of 2025 graduate with a B.S. in Human Biology (with honors). While at Stanford, I worked as a teaching assistant and an undergraduate researcher, which gave me lots of experience breaking down challenging material and helping students feel comfortable asking questions. As a tutor, I’m patient, approachable, and encouraging, and I try to make sessions feel relaxed and collaborative. I focus on helping students truly understand the “why,” build strong study habits, and gain confidence in their own problem-solving skills. I’d love to help students with ACT prep, college essays/applications, biology, maths, and statistics, whether that means strengthening foundations, preparing for exams, or polishing writing. I understand how demanding high school academics and college applications can be, and my goal is to help students feel more organized, confident, and prepared. I genuinely enjoy tutoring and am excited to support students as they work toward their goals!

Nathan
Vanderbilt University
2nd LieutenantLvl 0Hello! My name is Nathan Widjaja. I am currently a Junior at Vanderbilt University studying Cellular & Molecular Biology and Chinese. Outside of classes, I conduct circadian rhythm research, serve as a sous chef in the culinary club, and run the community garden. Since graduating Pine View in 2023, I have continued to work with Pine View families as a private tutor, garnering over 1500 hours in experience. I am adept in most math and science classes, from Pre-Algebra and 6th grade Earth Science to AP Calculus BC and Organic Chemistry. I have kept up with the new SAT/ACT testing and thus am confident with helping students prepare for those exams. While at Pine View, I earned 5s on 12 AP classes, scored a 1580 on the SAT, and a 36 on the ACT. I also offer college application help, with past mentees (who I remain SO proud of!) gaining admission into great universities. I support different learning styles and recognize that Pine View is often not a one-size-fits-all. I am a firm believer in student ability and look forward to support the Pine View community, which has given me so much, in any way that I can. Please feel free to reach out!

Mitchell
Princeton University - '28
2nd LieutenantLvl 0Hello! My name's Mitchell and I'm currently a sophomore studying public policy (SPIA) with a minor in Arabic. Here at Princeton, I'm in leadership for the College Democrats & Model Congress, and maintain a courseload heavy on writing and language learning. I attended PV for grades 3-12 and graduated in 2024. While there, I scored 5s on the following exams: AP Chem, Macro, French, Lang, Lit, US History, Human Geo, Environmental Science, & Comp Gov. Also scored a 4 on Micro. I studied French in particular for seven years and spent last summer working in Morocco, using the language daily for my work. I applied for colleges through the Questbridge platform, for which I had to submit applications & essays for ten colleges in about a month. Consequently, I've become really strong at writing quality essays quickly and would love to enable others to do the same. While helping others improve their writing skills (especially for college apps) would be my biggest strength, I'd definitely feel comfortable tutoring any of the subjects I listed above too.
